About
Welcome to Osteria Riva, a charming Italian eatery nestled in the heart of Bondi Junction at 1/96 Bronte Rd, NSW 2022, Australia. This delightful restaurant, renowned for its authenticity, tantalizes the taste buds with a menu that celebrates the simplicity and richness of Italian cuisine.
As you walk through the doors of Osteria Riva, you are greeted by an inviting atmosphere that marries modern touches with rustic charm. The friendly, predominantly Italian staff exude warmth and hospitality, making every dining experience feel special. It's evident that they genuinely care about every plate that leaves the kitchen.
The menu may not be extensive, but what it lacks in variety, it more than compensates with quality. Patrons rave about the Cacio e Pepe, a true testament to traditional Roman cooking – simple yet delectable, featuring perfectly al dente pasta enveloped in a creamy blend of cheese and pepper. Another standout is the Prawn Linguine, which echoes the sentiments of satisfied diners who commend its flavor and finesse without the distraction of excess olive oil.
On the dessert front, the Creme Caramel elevates the experience with its delightful orange undertones paired with a rich caramel sauce, promising a sweet ending to your meal that you'll be longing to relive. It's this dedication to elevating traditional recipes that has won the hearts of its patrons, making Osteria Riva a local gem.
While the menu does focus predominantly on pork and seafood, as noted by a few visitors, the staff remain eager to accommodate and suggest alternatives tailored to your palate. From indulgent Carbonara to satisfying Tiramisu, every dish echoes the restaurant's commitment to authentic flavors.
Whether it’s a casual Tuesday dinner or a special occasion, Osteria Riva promises to deliver delightful culinary experiences that will have you planning your next visit long before you leave the table. The confluence of amiable service, enchanting atmosphere, and exquisite Italian fare makes Osteria Riva more than just a meal; it’s a memorable dining adventure waiting to be discovered.

“ I really recommend this venue. Everything we ordered was well cooked and yum. The waiter who attended us was very nice and gave us really good recommendations. The carbonara, the burrata and the tiramisu were the best. It was a fantastic dinner ”
“ The best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in a long time, thanks to the quality of the food and the atmosphere. I’ve already been 6 times in the past few months, and it’s always been excellent. The decoration, the Italian staff and the food remind me of my trips to Rome!! I 100% recommend it for a date or a small group. And a personal recommendation: the linguini di gamberi and tiramisu for dessert… the best. ”
“ The menu options are small. But I was able to get the Gnocchi with a Tomatosauce. So just ask! Drinks & desserts were awesome. So yummy. But you should book a table since their normally in the evening booked out already. ”
“ An incredible experience from start to finish. We started with an entrée of pistachio mortadella and burrata, both absolutely amazing. The burrata was creamy, fresh, just perfect. Then we had their specialty: the carbonara, and it truly brought back memories of my holidays in Italy. Such authentic and comforting flavors! The service was also outstanding: warm, attentive, and very professional. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to. Grazie mille! ”
“ Excellent authentic Italian cuisine (no pizzas). Really enjoyed the ravioli, Bolognese and Gamberi Ragu. Burrata and Tiramisu are both must haves. Steak was just ok. Bookinga required because of limited seating. Extensive wine menu and options. ”
“ We enjoyed their Tuesday special ( i think its named Cacio e Pepe) and Prawn Linguine. The dishes were simple and delish, with perfectly cooked pasta and no unnecessary drizzle of olive oil. Interestingly there is no chicken pasta, a young patron on next table asked for "creamy chicken pasta" and was sad when he heard no. I felt for him and had similar feelings with making choices as a lot of dishes have pork, so something for restaurant to consider. Their Creme Caramel has orange flavour and we loved the caramel sauce. Service is pleasant and keen, feels authentic. ”
“ Can't believe I've gone past this restaurant for years and not eaten there sooner. A great little Italian restaurant in Bondi Junction. Loved their prawn pasta, veal schnitzel and Tiramisu. Easy to park out the front of an evening. Staff are all Italian from what I could tell, friendly, attentive and nice. A great find still. Fully recommend. ”
“ Can’t believe it took us nearly 3 years to dine at this gem of a restaurant considering we live around the corner but after tonight’s dinner and dessert we’ll definitely be coming back again. The food, ambience and service were all first rate. We had a fabulous dining experience and the meals and dessert were to die for. Thank you! ”
